Courtship Details: I didn't see it happen. The first time she was gravid on 11-25-10 the female hung out in her pipe and the male would try to enter from behind. Kinda rough... female has a ragged caudal fin from time to time.

On December 7, I came home to find this:
 
 
 
 
 
There has been some confusion in the past about sexing these fish. They are sexually dimorphic, meaning that there is a difference between the sexes. All of the information that I was able to find states that the male is the one with the orange coloration. My findings show the opposite. The coloration of the juveniles should be very interesting to see.  
 
Spawn number 2 occured on 12-19-10 between 4pm and 5:30pm. This was larger than the first. The pipe where they are located is a 2" pipe.
 
 
 
 
 
 
The eggs started hatching as soon as I put them into the tumbler. Only 20-30 hatched in the first hour.
